Spring 2011 Youth As Resources Grantees include:
The Native American After School Arts Program (NAASAP) Young children at the Baltimore American Indian Center are organizing toy and clothes “drives” and leading art projects with homeless youth. They will sell the art they have co-created and donate the proceeds to a local homeless shelter.
Youth Dreamers Summer Arts Program High school age Youth Dreamers are running a five week summer arts program focusing on public speaking, debate and community change for middle school age children from their neighborhood.
Tench Tilghman Elementary/ Middle School Students at Tench Tilgham Elementary/ Middle School are organizing a comprehensive playground awareness and rehabilitation campaign in order to build and sustain a safe, clean and vibrant playground for students and the community.
S.I.S.T.E.R. Love Young women from several East Baltimore neighborhoods have created their own organization and are running discussion groups and activities aimed at providing peer-to-peer support around issues including health, hygiene, social skills, professional skills and conflict resolution.

Youth In Harmony Teenagers are organizing a health fair and providing ongoing youth-led workshops on healthy living and other health and wellness related topics.
Abstinence Angels
Young women from Learning, Inc. have formed a city-wide abstinence support program to encourage young ladies under the age of 18 to commit to abstinence as a way to reduce teen pregnancy.
The SALAD Project Midtown Academy students are planting community gardens and hosting community dinners in order to provide healthier meals for students and neighborhood residents.
Baltimore City-wide youth Poetry Team Teen poets are organizing a city-wide poetry slam and open-mic tour in order to encourage community change education and activism.
